Silhouette brOoches

*Foam sheet
*Scissors
*Pin Backs
*Glue

Using silhouette clip art as a guide,
I sketched out some
simple Bat shapes
on Foam Sheets.

Since these are small sized,
I used my Embroidery Scissors to Snip and Cut.
At first I thought Tie Back/Pins would be great,
but they didn't hold the Foam well;
the Bats kept turning upside down!
That's a whole other different brooch.

Go with the long pin Brooch backs; they will hold the Bats firmly.

These are easy peasy;
switch up with Witches, Cats, and Other~Worldly Figures.
Zombie, anyone?

Bats for Class Projects.....

 With the youngest WombWeeble in Kindergarten now,
I get to start all over with the crafts projects
and that means GLiTTeR....sooo much GLiTTeR!

One of our favorite evening time activities
is looking for the Bats,
on our after dinner walks as they come out for the night.

Coincidentally, the Kindergartners will be starting a unit on Bats right after Halloween.
What a great thing.

Black Foam
Chalk
Clothes Pin
GLiTTeR
Glue
Scissors

Using the Chalk, draw and cut out a single unit for stencils.
It makes it much easier when you have 23 sets you have to draw and cut.
REALLY sharp Scissors helps the cutting process a lot.
I wanted the Bats to be big enough to cover the Clothes Pin.

After drawing and cutting the pieces,
I gave them a quick swipe in the sink
with plain water and a sponge.
Then laid them on a towel to dry.

      Bats at the beach...

Once the pieces are dry, begin Gluing.
Body to Wings,
Wings to Clothes Pin.

Then the Fun.

Oh, Joy....GLiTTER!

 Bats have many straight lines that are easy for
the Kidds to work with,
especially with Glue and GLiTTeR.
You'd be surprised, or maybe not,
how many Kidds don't even do this simple
craft anymore~
pity.

Here's to Kindergarten Art!
Long live the Inner Child.

PrisciLLa's EaRThLy DeLighTs

  it's beginning to look like a lot like Christmas....

I'd be hard pressed to choose between The Tree and The Stocking...
Without them, it really isn't Yulemas, is it?

These vintage wire Trees are a perfect bit of Whymsical
in your Holiday Spirit.
{Priscilla says: Ssparkalicious!}

Two SiSters Mary Thoughts for the Day ~ October

Radiant joy is everywhere.
Spirits in tune to the spicy air,
Thrill in the glory of each day.
Life's worth living when we say, October!"
-   Joseph Pullman Porter

"When all the cows were sleeping
And the sun had gone to bed,
Up jumped the pumpkin,
And this is what he said:

I'm a dingle dangle pumpkin
With a flippy floppy hat.
I can shake my stem like this,
And shake my vine like that."

Finger Paints Cordur Orange

This is the second color
I bought from the
Finger Paints Fall 2011.
It is a yummy color.

To me, it looks like PumPkin Pie, right before it browns perfectly.
It's not a bright Orange, but a deeper, Orange.
a pair of rusty corduroys!

of Autumn Leaves.....the Orange ones!
Don't just pair it with your Brown wardrobe either, or at all;
The CoLor really looks grand with Deep Pink or Magenta clothing.

Cordu Orange is the perfect compliment for your October fashion.

Avalon Juniper by Pacifica...a cream perfume

I fell in LoVe with
Pacifica's Winter Solstice soap
{which of course, they no longer make.}

Pacifica does have other LoVeLy scents as well,
 and Avalon Juniper has been top of the list.

After trying the solid, I really started to enjoy the scent.
 Being an avid and eternal Patchouli Girl,
that says a lot!
It's actually a great companion for Patchouli.
Juniper is one of my Top 3 scents;
I love to work into my Incense Mixtures.
The berries look fantastic on Herbal Candles, too.
It's magical qualities are nothing to be scoffed at either.

The Juniper and the Grapefruit really do play each other up
to create this Delightful solid perfume.
I find my Self, sniffing my wrist constantly to get a whiff.

This scent is
warm and sensuous,
sharp and awakening;
A crisp, cool Night,
on a walk with your Honey...
 Sauciness in the Woods, baby.

it just smells damn good, Sha!

Dr. Bronner's Citrus Orange ...in a huge ass bottle!

Wait til you try this...your whole body will giggle
and then say, "Thank You"

What a Wonderful way to welcome Autumn.
and this bottle is Humoungus!
{it was Huge, Tiny Elvis!}

First off,
Dr. Bronner's liquid soaps really do go a long way.
It took Me awhile to decide to purchase the bottle,
because at $17, that's a whole lotta for Soap.

Granted, this was for the 32 oz
{from Whole Paychecks, I mean Foods}
and  naturally, they didn't have the 16oz.
These are the prices listed on the site.
The 16oz is $11
 and 32oz is $17.
The bars are $5..
The Biggie bottle works out to a great deal~

It's cleaner as in less messier than the bars;
It last longer than the bars;
It's scent is stronger than the bars

The suds action on this is Fantastic.
It's a BuBBLe Bath for the Shower.

Even the Womb Weebles are enjoying this.
Bright and Shiny, pEEps, Bright and Shiny...
inside and out.

October FuLL MoOn ~ Hunter's MoOn

Merry it is in the good greenwood,
When the mavis and merle are singing,
When the deer sweeps by,
and the hounds are in cry,
And the Hunter's horn is ringing.

Shannon Bonatakis

 I totally just need to open my own Art Gallery,
just so I can meet these Fantastic, inspiring Artists
whose World's, I keep stumbling into.

This artist is Shannon Bonatakis.

You can look at Her work and tell instantly why I love it.
Along with the former artists I have posted,
She has command of her Female figures
{soft and sensual, not rigid or cookie cutter, alas, like mine},
with the dreamy sexy surreal quality that I just gush over.

Check out the details in that fur!

That there is Talent, pEEps~

Priscilla's Earthly Delights

Creative Hands

I LoVe boOks!
More than that,
I love Arts & Crafts books...
Even better,
a WHOLE set!

and that's what I got.
My library used to have this set,
but no longer.

After going to check out one of the Series,
and discovering this unfortunate truth,
I googled, etsy~ied, ebayed,
and found a set that wasn't to terribly expensive.

I'm really looking forward to a lot of these projects,
especially the Knitting and Crocheting
{Priscilla says: Not the Poncho, Honey}

HummuS

 I LOVE Hummus~
The first time I had it,
was around the age of 8.
We were living in Kuwait
and we made a batch
for a class project
It was great.

To truly appreciate Hummus,
you need to have homemade.
Minimal ingredients that go a looong way,
and
Minimal time to make.
You throw everything in the food chopper
and give a whirl.

 This is a basic recipe.
From here, I adjust it to my Taste.
I prefer a bit more Tahini so I added
a few more tbls.
I also added more Olive Oil
to get a smoother Hummus.
The amount of Garlic was perfect!

1 16 oz can of Chickpeas/Garbanzo Beans
3~5 tbls. Lemon Juice
1 1/2 tbls. Tahini
2 Cloves of Garlic
1/2 tsp. Salt
2 tbls. Olive Oil

I also prefer my Pita Bread toasted,
in little triangles~

Add some fresh Veggies
{we had a Red, and Yellow Bell PePPer}
and you've got a perfect meal.

Make your Hummus the day/night before,
to give it time for the Flavors
to really meld!

My "VinTaGe" Art....or work i've done in the past

Back in the day,
In a post~Howard Johnson's Cup o' Joe & Pie
and pre~Starbuck's Faaancy PaPer Cuppa era,
there was a really CooL thing happening,
small local Coffee Houses were coming alive.

Directly meshed with much of the Art Community,
it was a very magical time.
People gathering,
Peace spreading,
Intelligent and Reflective Conversations
and a place to enjoy Artist's Works.

One of The Turkish Cousins, became the joint owner
of such an Establishment.
Tucked into a brick cottage,
surrounded by greenery,
and a beautiful brick patio,
I found My Place.
My Heart literally was 24*7 Starbursts

The TC's vision was this:
Pick a bunch of Artist's Friends & Family,
give them a table top or two,
let them paint what they want,
resinate said table tops,
attach base...
Viola~
that was serious Mad Vision skills!

 I was honored to be One of them.
Since the tables were never meant to be sold
I picked two of my favorite cards from
The Inner Child deck,
Gaia and The World.
They were painted in Acrylic,
and later Resinated
{unfortunately, this is the only pic I have}

We signed our names as the artist
who did the table,
and it was the first time anyone
recognized my name from a piece of art.

Sadly,
once the business took off,
the other guy, who had majority,
kicked The TC off and out.
Shortly after that, they closed.
No one knows what ever happened to the tables....
I hope they found a nice place.
