 Dillard's had a Candy Counter upstairs with THE Best!

Heavenly Hash.

It was a sad day in KeLLy's Frontier
when that Candy Counter

was no more.

Of course, Elmer's Heavenly Hash is an adored childhood Spring treat.

First, it started as just finding a recipe for the candy.

Then, it was
"hey, Family Tradition"

{you're singing it, you know you are}

and this is the result.

Here is where it goes from

Heavenly Hash 

to 

Rocky Road.

The taste was awesome.

But it did remind me of RR, minus the ice cream.

In fact, this would be perfect as a base in an Ice Cream Sundae.

Very Simple too.

INGREDIENTS

Bag of Miniature MarshMaLLows

Bag of Chocolate Morsels ~ used semi sweet

1 1/2 cups of Nuts ~ I used Almonds

1 can of Sweetened Condensed Milk

2 tbls. BuTTer

Dash of Vanilla

Coarsely chop the nuts.

You want the bigger pieces, 

so a few pulses should do it.

I also took the biGGer pieces out

before putting it into the mixture.

Mostly for a cleaner look.

Using a double boil, 

melt your bag of chocolate morsels.

Add the BuTTer to help smooth it.

Slowly whisk in the Condensed Milk.

Mix in the Nuts and Miniature MarshMaLLows,

coating quickly and thoroughly;

Press into a lightly buttered dish.

Eat and Enjoy.

Although, The Family Mine really enjoyed this Candy,

it is not quite what I was envisioning.

I've already figured out where to go next,

and am quite looking forward to giving it a whirl!

Yulemas stocking stuffers

 an American Tradition since 1967!!

Stockings are to Me the best part of Yulemas.

Since as far back into Childhood as I can remember, 

The Stocking held such grand treats.

Pecan Rolls are the first Candy I remember getting.  

Along with a tiny doll that was very popular.

I still remember my 13th Christmas Stocking....
it held my first MakeUp and Beauty Treats.

Now I try to make our Stockings just as Magical.

No matter what Trinkets I may put in them,
like Movies, Gift Cards, Calendars, Make Up Bags...

the Candy Treats pretty much stay the same.

Ice Cubes are awesome.
Along with the Chocolate Icicles.
When I can find them.
Alas, it isn't very often.

Since the Chocolate Orange
{WHAM! Unwrap and Eat}
first came out {of. the. BOX!}
our Stockings have been blessed with one every year.

This is a fairly recent addition in the past decade. 

I just LoVe seeing Santa poking out of the top of the Stocking.

I discovered Botan Rice Candy with the Edible PaPer
from one of The Brother's Friends,
20 years ago.
It was a tradition for Her MoM to put them in Her stocking.

and who can resist Toblerone?

well, I can't anyway.

These are the NiNjas of Yulemas Candy.

They have a way of disappearing if you blink...

 This is definitely the most unique thing I put in the Stockings.

Odd, yet quite, Odd.

But Wonderful.

 Here's to the Magic of Stockings and the Things they are Stuffed with...

Surprisingly, it really is good.

I'm not a big fan of apple juice,

but the flavor is very soft.

Sno Caps

You may be wondering, what the hell I'm doing with 

a box of Sno Caps for The Treats today.

Wellll....

The stupid movie theaters here quit carrying them.

They are my go~to flavor equalizer in the theater experience.

Along with my Mr. Pibb

and the butter butter buttered PoPcorn,

Sno Caps complete the Mouthgasm.

Astro PoPs and PoP Rocks

Two of the CooLest Candies from My Childhood.

The absolute best was the Marathon Bar 

{can we have a moment of silence, in honor of THE Marathon Bar}

Astro PoPs and Rock Candy.

Astro PoPs were just CooL looking 

and they lasted longer than Willy Wonkas never ending gobstopper. 

Not to eat while riding your skateboard either! 
Save the powdered Jell~O for that.

Nothing like stabbing your Little Brother with one when he was annoying too!

In the 80s the company reversed the PoP on the stick precisely for this reason.

Oh well.  The Astro PoP crash landed and was discontinued.

But~ there is rumor that it will be blasting off again in Fall 2010.

After searching for a looong  bit of time, I found them. 

Out of stock!

The search goes on.

That brings us to PoP Rocks!

Don't even try to protest 

that you didn't drink The Cola and eat The PoP Rocks

to see if The Stomach would explode!

and all it got You was a really bad tummy...blech.

Amazingly, pEEps still! believe that. 

Now The Little Space Zims enjoy these as much as I did.

GrEEn is Spring!

We're ALL ready for warmer weather.

Even Wynter is ready for Spring.

Its Time.

This clock says so.

Clocks are one of those objects that I love and get around to making,

but I always find that Others do it better.

I just adore the simple retro design of this clock.

The Oldest Son loves Green and I have this on his Yulemas Gift List.

 

Simpleness of this design is the biggest reason
I really like it.

I'm a big fan of  solid color shirts,

preferring to add "decor"
through My jewelry. 

Slip on this bracelet and

complete it with simple silver hoop earrings.

and She recycles.

You should really check out her Milk Jug Flower pieces also.

 The BabyGirl has an affinity with birds.
Seeing Ami at Miami Ink a few years ago
do a beautiful green rendition of these birds in a tattoo,
My interest has gone up too.

So, these can make a nice pair of earring for The BabyGirl
and I'll get the tattoo!

In the 80s I wore a version of light green EyE shadow  that I had a lot of fun with.

I now own a green eyeliner pencil,

that really makes my eyes stand out 

{alas, if only it didn't smudge so much!}

Seeing this assorted green set,
makes Me want to start wearing shadow again.

Especially the Second One.

This time I have two sets, one Casual, one Dressy {and of course, too small for ME!}
