MoOn pLate....

 what a wonderful full moon project

This is one of my all time favorite things to make.

Supplies:

*************

Clear glass plate

Contact paper

Marker

X ~ acto knife, new blade

Glass etch

or 

Frosted Glass paint

Plate holder

Tea light candle

Wash and Dry the plate.

Cover the inside of the plate with your Contact Paper.

Using the marker, trace the face.

Take the X~acto knife and cut out the pieces

{the unfrosted spaces are where the contact paper stayed on}

Gloop on  the glass etch and let sit for correct amount of time

{see your glass etch instructions}

Wash off thoroughly and let dry.

Test a small edge or corner to make sure etch took.

I've done a second coat before.

Once this is done, and you've rewashed/dried,

peel the contact paper off.

You can then use the Glass Frosting paint to spruce up the etch,

like around the cheeks, chin, eyes..

Once the MoOn Plate is finished,

set on plate holder,

light tea candle,

and

Margit Brandt pattern, Butterick 6462

When I first started buying Vintage Patterns, I came across this one by Margit Brandt.
The Coat was exactly what I had been looking for.
I put it in my favorites, not yet decided on it, and of course, someone bought it.  
Aaand I couldn't find another one.




Until now.
about a year later.
I was doing my pattern search and it popped up. 
I snagged it! 
Signed, Sealed, Delivered!



Kenzo pattern, Butterick 4259

Priscilla says, this has Sunday Cocktails written allll over it.
I have to agree.
It has that 80s feel with the 1930s/40s touch.
For Me, anyway.
The first outfit on the left reminds me of Senior Year.
It was one of my favorites.

The second outfit is totally
Sunday Cocktails with the Girls.
Bloody Marys,  good music, great food.....Relaxation.
Even Priscilla needs a day without the makeup.
{Doesn't mean you can't still look good.}


Strange Invisible perfume

One of the Blogger Betties that I follow, {London MakeUp Girl}
posted about the perfume brand Strange Invisible.
The scent was Magazine Street, inspired by New Orleans, which had my Heart right there;
but then one thing She really liked about this was it was good to her perfume~sensitivity; also a really big problem for Me. 

Luckily, they have trial sizes, for a few dollars.

I ordered two, one for Me, and one for The Man.

I really do like Magazine Street. 

It's a nice break from The~everyday~scent.

It is expensive for the regular sizes,  perfect for Yulemas, or Anniversary, or Birthday.

I have fun playing around with Fused Glass in my Studio. 
  I found these glass molds at Delphi Glass.

You probably know by now, that I have a thing for Hearts, and for Bears too....and most of My Friends and People I Know are fanatics about Their Saints.  
So, why not.....I'll get some black and gold glass 
and make em some paperweights or something.

Be warned though!  The description says "Kiln wash before use".

What it doesn't say is that You are supposed to use the Primo Primer Kiln Wash.

I broke my Heart mold the first time I used it, using regular kiln wash. 

When I called to see about a replacement the Customer Service Lady told Me,

I needed the Primo Primer.  

Yes, yes, it has been quite a Delightful Day..

Glass Candle Jars ~Recycled

 

ok, I'm bored. 

I'm in the mood to do something creative or just something. 

The studios still a mess, so that's out. 

These are the perfect times to do those little things you put off.

Like my candle jars.

Most especially after the Holidays when You've burned a gazillion of them.  

If they are nice enough I will stash them away to use Later. 

Well, its Later.

So I decided to clean them up and put them to use.

I fill a pan with water , as close to the top as I could and let the jars boil. 

The wax melts and collects on the water,
and as the jars are dewaxed,
I carefully take Them one by one
and putting under hot running water 

{it should be hot to keep jars from cracking if cooled to fast} 

and scrubbing the Dickens out of Them.

Dispose of the hot water/old wax when its cooled.  

 









Voila! 
New clean jars to store stuff in. 

and I did!

Glass Etched Jar

While making the Chamomile Milk bath, I decided to Glass Etch the jar.
I gathered my supplies:

White Contact paper

X-acto knife with BRAND NEW BLADE (very very important)
Drawing pens or markers
Ruler

I cut a square of contact paper to stick to the glass bottle.
I drew my design on, just eyeballing it and then,
colored in the Definite Areas of Extraction.
Use the rule to help stay on the Straight Lines if you need!
(Having a very sharp X~acto knife really makes this job A LOT easier)
Very carefully! Cut all your lines ...
Using the tip of the X~acto, peel up a corner,
and slowly peel the contact paper off the jar.
If an area is not cut through all the way, gently slice.
Dab the etch creme on thickly!
Make sure that you get the corners so they will be evenly etched.
Let set for 15-20 minutes

Rinse and Dry

And Voila!

Glass Etch Rocks!
