The Ghost and Mrs McClure

 The Haunted Bookshop Series
A series written by Alice Kimberly
{she also writes The Coffeehouse Mysteries under Cleo Coyle}

Nice cozy reads to simply tune out to!

the main character Penelope, who comes back to be partner with Her Aunt at the boOkstore,
as She struggles with Her independence and being a single parent.

the main character Jack, the Apparition American  Hero
{aka: Ghost, after He was murdered in said boOkstore},
who encourages Penelope to not be a patsy.

Can you have two main characters?....
Set in a Bookstore WITH an Apartment upstairs! How cooL is that?

An instant connection between the two main characters.
An other appealing fact is the vintage flair, complete with vintage language.

Toss in Some savory pEEps, Some time travel, Some supernatural LoVe, Some nasty in~laws,  Some gOOd natured town folk and humor, I find my Self cheering Penelope on to show them what for! HMPH!

I have read the First 3 and will be getting the next two soon.

A perfect little read for lazy days, road trips, beach.....

Merry Merry Ghost ~ Carolyn Hart

Holiday Read
As I've mentioned before, I love to stack up on bOOks to coincide with the hOlidays.
Carolyn Hart's new book Merry Merry Ghost is another hit.
Racing against time to solve the mystery, save the child, sort out the bad guy,
Bailey Ruth does it all with Style.
Perfect for that Holiday wind~down, with a cuppa of Your favorite drink, and for Me,
Botan Rice Candy
{is SO CooL! comes with a edible paper!}

Bailey Ruth the Spirit
has so much Holiday Spirit
She could be the fourth Spirit in A Christmas Carol!

Breaking ALL the Rules, which, let's face it, is Fun,
comes naturally to Bailey Ruth.
and even more so, when it's to save a Child.

Bailey Ruth's Christmas Traditions are worth the Laugh.
We should all dress up like Reindeer and pull a sleigh with all the Sugar Plum's presents
{must belt out song and paw feet like a real reindeer!}

Need a break, more than a kit kat can give ya?
Have a sit, bring supplies, and put your feet up
Enjoy the literary moment

ELviS and The Dearly Departed ~ Peggy Webb

Imagine Johnny Bravo's voice, in the body of a hound dog....
and you've got Elvis.
Reincarnate.

and then, there's The Valentine Cousins,
who make me long for that never goTTen SiSter,
or the Cousin that I used to be close to.
Great book.
Shenanigans, Laughter, and the Occasional Opinion of one Hip Hound Dog.
"It was Huge, Tiny Elvis!"
Anything that involves Elvis, automatically gets a Gold Star from Me.

Peggy Webb is a new found, happy treat.
She is Now on My "I really really like this author" list...
Born and raised in the South, I can totally appreciate the comings and goings of
Southern Living
{NOT the magazine, although, I can totally appreciate that too!},
Southern Family,
and
Southern PaSSion.
Not to mention, But will! the Great fOOd and often Quirky pEEps.
Did I mention that Elvis is a major theme???

The first in this {hopefully long series} is now on the Special Shelf
in My house, where I kEEp all the Greats
{greats in my humble onion}
A great wEEkend Read or Take Along bOOk,
tuck it into Your purse to sneak a few pages.........
or chapters.
I look forward to reading the Second bOOk in this Series:
Elvis and the Grateful Dead.

PS****
I just read Ms. Webb's website and Great News!
As it is there are already Five bOOks in progress, and Ms. Webb states
that it is an open ended series so there are many more Adventures to come
from Elvis and the Valentines!!!

Ghost At Work ~ A Bailey Ruth Mystery

Ghost At Work ~ A Bailey Ruth Mystery
                                           by Carolyn Hart

I discovered Carolyn Hart in December of 2007. Due to an illness, I was at home ALOT.
I would go to My local library after the Family had dinner, to destress and get out the house.
One of Her bOOks on tape happened to be by the counter, and while waiting in line, I read
the description. It sounded right up my alley. I then proceeded to read every single one from that
series from Beginning to End, In Order! yep.

Carolyn Hart had/has become one of my
Top~Authors~I~Will~Read~Every~Book Authors.
I guess I should have just mentioned that I really really really like Ms. Hart's books.

When I found out about the new series, I was quite excited.
Ghosts AND Mysteries, a most enticing combination....
The book came out in September 08, and Bailey Ruth Raeburn was born.

I waited until October to read it though...........
I know, I know
But!
I have this Thing, see..I like to coordinate my Holiday bOOks.
Ghost at Work is a Halloween mystery, and Halloween is in October.
Go Figure. (smilesmilesmile)

So here's a Treat for You;
a perfectly sound reason to veg for an hour, or two, or even three.
Add a piece of cheesecake and a cuppa of cappuccino,
and just Dare! anyone to disturb you.
or at least just have a pillow handy to throw at them if they bother you.

The AuRoRa TeaGaRden series ~ Charlaine Harris

MYSTERIES

October is a wonderful month for Mysteries.

Today, I highly recommend!

The AuRoRa TeaGaRden Series

by author
Charlaine Harris

I'm hOOked. I purchased these books after getting interested in Tru Blood.

When ever a series or movie is based on books,
I like to try and read them first.
This happens to be {as far as I can tell} the first series
that Ms. Harris has written.
I will be purchasing the other series very sOOn*

It really scores with Me, when a writer makes me laugh.
And Aurora does just that.
Plus, She reminds me of Me a little~

Charlaine Harris is also the writer of

The LiLy Bard Shakespeare series

and

The SOOkie Stackhouse series
of which my lovely hubby is getting Me for YuLemas!
