Passage to India restaurant

As per our usual road tripp quirks,
we found an Indian restaurant across the street from our condo.
I ordered my usual Lamb Curry and Gulab juman.
Delicious.
Bit different on the flavor front of my favorite Indian restaurant here at home,
reasonably priced,
and decent servings.

The gulab juman was heavier on the syrup,
just add a cup of coffee
and you have the perfect amount of sweetness
for dessert.

Yes, yes, I recommend Passage to India.
Be sure to google them,
they have a few different locations
and online menu.

T~Rex Restaurant....RAWR!

 RAWR!!!!

T~Rex was our big Road Tripp Family Dinner.
and hot damn, Dinosaurs are da bomb!!!

 http://www.trexcafe.com/index.html

It's Fascinating.

There's the Ice rOOM
where we had dinner
{the others are Fire, Water, Earth}

 If you can, get the Ice roOm;
It changes colors,
with a Meteorite shower every 20 minutes,
it has this cool ass T~Rex.

We splurged on this flickering drink cups
{which were making me quite dizzy!}
for the kiddos.

Typical kids menu

The Chook Man and I, splurged on the FoOd!
I had the Tar Pit Fried Shrimp {and I didn't taste any tar OR BP Oil!}
and The Chook had the Bone Yard Buffet.

Both meals were very delicious and worth the price.

The rest of the Restaurant
These Jelly Fish were just exquisite....
I need a couple of them in my bathroom.

We all have a Dinosaur deep within us just trying to get out.
~ Colin Mochrie

This is by far, the best restaurant The Family has been to.
They really outdid themselves with this
and it paid off.

Cheesy Tourist Souvenirs!
We went with the Dino Figurines,
a bag full of Dino Figurines.

Eight dinos for about 13.00$!

This plastic popcorn bucket gets up~cycled to a Dino Keeper

yep, this place is the moshest Pit on Earth!

Downtown Disney

We planned our tripp to arrive late afternoon Saturday
to be able to visit Downtown Disney
for Two Reasons~
Blu and the Lego Store
RayRay and the T~Rex Restaurant..
nuf said.

The Blu Man is an avid Legomaniac.

He was promised his Birthday Presents from the Lego Store
{the actual store in under remodeling,
but they have a temp place further down}
The only Lego Creature we saw was the Water Dragon;
They LoVed it.

 and then, there is......T~Rex.

RAWR means I LoVe You in Dinosaur.
and We LOVE this restaurant.

HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY
recommend making Reservations.

They have the water taxi's that can bring you from section to section,
if you would rather not walk.
It's very beautiful at night.
This is a shopping and restaurant park.
You can look at a list of shops and eateries on~line,
many of which show their prices.

The only ride I could see was the Hot Air Balloon,
and it wasn't running when we were there.

They also have Cirque De Soleil which is very popular.

I'm glad we knocked this out the first night though.
Shopping isn't our favorite thing to do, plus...
It freed us up for The Good Stuff.

Our Saturday in New Orleans and The Cult

the cult at the house of blues

For this being my all time favorite band,
I would say even beating out Def Leppard by a mere smidgen,
but beat non the less...
I have never seen them in concert.
The timing was never right...
until right now.
I've been stalking the website tour section for four years!  that's a LOT of visualization ...
So what's a Holiday HoHo Queen to do?
Make a wEEkEnd of it!

  Envie coffee shoppe.

Besides the concert, I planned on hitting some of the resale/vintage shoppes.
There's a few mid~century modern type pieces
I would like to have.

First things first, Lunch!
We went to Mona's ~
they have great lamb and hummus.
The fried Kibby is perfect
for a late  lunch
when you don't have time
for dinner
later.

After a lunch like that,
I am in desperate need of Java.
Our favorite coFFee shoppe, Envie,
is a block or two up from Mona's
so we stopped for a roving java
then down to Southern Candymakers
for my Walnut Fudge.

The Chook Man picked this way, so that way we went.
Fifteen minutes later, we walked into
Greg's Antiques on Decateur,
and scored two mid century modern type chairs
in what looks to be very good condition.
I think it may even have the original,
although wacky print, fabric.
I haven't had time to really
get into the chairs yet,
but I'm excited.

Priscilla will be debuting those beauties this weekend.
After a totally excellent morning and afternoon,
it was time to push it on through to tonight.

We headed to The House of Blues for our evening with The Cult.
The icing on that cake was the opening band..The Black Ryder.
Met up with some old friends,
threw up some attitude to the rail~stealing wanna be's
{HEY! should have got here when the DOORS opened},
and had a cracker jack time.

The Breakfast Klub

Before we even left for Houston,
We knew that We were going to be
headed to
The Breakfast Klub.

for the Catfish and Grits!!!

This has got to be one of Houston's best breakfast places.
A whole lot of food for a whole little price.
The Chook Man ordered the Catfish and Grits,
DELICIOUS!
I ordered the Eggs/Bacon/Grits Breakfast plate.
DELICIOUS!

Everybody was friendly,
Service was quick,
Many choices of coffee to choose,
The decor was very homey,

We sat in front of the big window,
and got stuffed.
