Remember the Whymsical Wynter MoOn?

This be the Sister Sun.

I used Tissue PaPer and Mod podge decoupage,
along with Butterfly cut outs from My PaPer punch

and layered and layered and layered.

Mod Podge Decoupage

I started out by giving the Sun a good layer or two of White paint.

Let dry completely.

Then in a process over a few days,

I decoupaged the Tissue PaPer pieces to the Sun.

I'm pretty heavy handed with the decoupage too!

If you're familiar with Tissue PaPer, you know that it bleeds pretty easily. It would behoove you to do a moderate layer and then let dry for several hours or even overnight would be better.

I didn't really try to follow any kind of system. Most of the time I just closed my eyes, picked a piece and placed it on the Sun.

Sometimes I just closed My EyEs and dropped the tissue paper and let it fall in place.

You know, what ever works for you!

When I felt satisfied with the Tissure PaPer, I put a last layer of Mod podge all over.

Using the Butterfly hole punch,  Cloud design paper, Black&White design paper,

I punched a few Butterflies, then decoupaged them to the Sun.
One more layer of Mod podge to seal it.

Hung on front dOOr to encourage Spring to hurry up and shake a tail, 

We need some warm weather!

Whymsical Wynter mOOn

 Looking through Holiday bOoks I found at the Library,

I found a project that fancied up plain paper~mache' ornaments.

I've had this mOOn {and also a sun ~ future project}

for years now.

I was bored.

So's, I got un~bored.

Plus, I get to use the word Whymisical!

LoVe it.

These would look Wynter Wonderful on a Twinkly Tree!

I gathered~

PaPer Mache ornament

White acrylic paint

Light Blue acrylic paint

GLiTTeR Packs Metallic Mix ~ Silver

Twinklets Diamond Dust

Blue Wire

Blue Ribbon

Glue

Toothpicks {or something straight and pointed to draw with}

 Paint ornament with white paint for base coat. 

I did 3 coats for a nice solid coverage.

Make sure and let dry completely in~between coats!

Using the light blue, highlight the face ~ eyes, chEEks, lips. Use a soft brush, and soft fluffy type motion to subtly bring the face out. Let dry.









I used the tip of my glue bottle to draw out my designs, which wasn't really conducive to nice thin exotic lines.
I did use a strip of thick gauge wire and toothpicks to help.
Search your local art shops, or online for all kinds of thin tipped bottles to use. 
{Henna applicator bottles with assorted tips would be nice. Make sure and clean glue from tip!}
Tip: Do One or Two Designs at a Time. Glue will run,
especially if on a curved surface}


I used the Metallic Mix Silver for the outlines.

I went back and filled in the Stars with the Diamond Dust,
but it apparently didn't sit well with the elmer's glue, for it yellowed. I will be trying a different type on the next one.
Maybe decoupage glue...

When everything is completely dry, if so desired, spray with a varnish, matt or shiny. I did a matt coat.

Using a piece of blue wire, I carefully punched a small hole in the top, and inserted the wire loop I made into said hole. Using a bit of tissue paper and glue, build up around the base of wire loop. Dry. Add ribbon and hang.

IDEA: If I had a small plastic cow, I would have GLiTTeRed Her up and attached Her with a sprig of wire as though She were jumping through.

Yulemas Egg Gift Crafting ~ say GLiTTeR!

 

   Watching an episode of Craft Lab one afternoon,

this artist was creating Egg Art.

I have a this LoVe~thing for Mini~creations.

Hence, My LoVe for resin.

I digress..

Using Blown Goose Eggs,

She created scenes for the inside.

For the episode, She did Alice in Wonderland

{its Reallly hard to find the episode, 

for some reason hgtv and diy network

have gotten rid of alot of Craft Instructions and Videos.}

That hooked me in further.

but this, this was the absolute final sinker ~ GLiTTeR!

The whole inside was just a luscious layer of GLiTTeR.

 Thats it. I'm doin it.

So I ordered the Eggs.

I ordered Duck Eggs

                                                and Goose Eggs.

The Duck Eggs were small.

The Goose Eggs were about 8.0/8.5.

I did not do well with carving/cutting the Duck Eggs.

The Goose Eggs were great, but I'm going bigger next time.

 

WARNING: MAKE SURE AND WEAR PROTECTIVE GLASSES AND DUST MASKS!!!

Mark Your opening on the Egg. 

When You start cutting, go smaller,

cutting on the inside of the line.

You can always enlarge the opening later.

I used a fine point dremel carving/engraver bit to Carefully and Slowly drill a hole

and then follow the line drawing as carefully as possible.

     Mine created a lot of dust.

Beautiful, yet creepy, in a body snatcher kind of way, don't you think?

Using a dremel sander bit, turn the dremel on to the lowest setting and Carefully and Slowly

sand the rim of the opening.

After the cutting and sanding, I washed the Eggs, then let them air dry.

Now, here comes the YummY part.

The GLiTTeRizing!

Using good old Elmers glue, put a nice decent layer of glue on the inside, making sure to cover the whole surface up to opening.

Generously! pour the GLiTTeR into the Egg, and SwishSwishSwish...
coat the indside. 
Pour out the excess onto a creased piece of paper to pour back into the GLiTTeR bottle.

Oh, Deliciou~zo.
