PriSciLLa's EarThLy DeLights

{ Priscilla says: As it should be!}

I LOVE movies.
It surprises even Moi, sometimes,
how many freakin movies I have seen~
a  freakin lot!

Movies are one of the ultimate Holiday units,
be a Self Day Holiday
or a Womb Fruit Holiday
or better yet, a Date Holiday
{cause everyday should be a holiday, or at least once a week}

This is just a sampling of KeLLy's Frontier's must~have movies;
at the very least, must~have seen movies.
Many of these I discovered back in the days of
IFC before they went all, like, ABC.
They had some kick ass movies then.

*The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert
*Grandmas' Boy
*Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrel
*Tank Girl
*Bubble Boy
*Saving Grace
*Price of Milk
*Gross Pointe Blank
*Four Rooms
*Jaws

*West World
*Jurassic Park
*Die Hard
*Legend
*Muriel's Wedding
*Night on Earth
*Mystery Train
*Saturday Night Fever
*Young Frankenstein
*Four Rooms
*Eurotrip
*One Who Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
*Lost Boys
*Sleeper
*Invasion of the Body Snatchers {both versions}

Since I  just want to share my faves,
I won't go into a rant about the
demise of IFC {sigh}
and other disasters {remakes anyone?}

oh look, the movie's starting..
Shhhh.

Magnificient Movie Marathon Holiday

 Yes, yes indeed.
What a fine day.
The Mates and Me
have been waiting 3! months for this day...

an all day Movie Marathon.

 The only thing that
could have made this better
would have been to see it in pajamas.

We read Hugo Cabret last summer and fell in LoVe with it.

The book was edgier than the movie,
and there were some comic relief scenes not from the book,
but the visuals were stunning.

If you have any child on your Present List that LoVes to read,
then get this book.
{We also discovered recently Wonderstuck, Brian Selznick's newest book.}.
Then we found out about the movie.
Shazam!

In that continuing wave of movie goodness,
The Muppets announce a new movie.
What?
Oh Yeah!...
We Are Muppets!

and both movies opened on the same day.
So both movies we must see.
The kids were on Cloud 9....

I laughed... a lot.
So did my WombMates.
and The Chook Man.

The biggest complaint I had was
that in trying to fit in so much Muppetness,
many of the scenes were way too short
{think: Animal's drum scene....waaayyy to short}

What a Treat~
two movies in the same day.
and of course, I wore OPI's Meep Meep Meep polish in honor of this day!

Lagniappe: Both movies were a hit!
maniacal laugh; maniacal laugh; maniacal laugh....

Holiday Movies ~ Traditional and a few New

The ULTIMATE Holiday Movie!!

We all know the Classics.
We LoVe them
because they are The Classics.

Every so often,
a new one will pOp up
that I like enough to add
to My List.

Some of the Newer Ones that I look forward to:

A Season For Miracles
*************
I've been a fan of Carla Gugino since Son In Law.
I actually didn't discover this movie til a few years ago
even though it was released in 1999.

Holiday in Handcuffs
*************
 Melissa Joan Hart...just sayin.
Quirky as always,
cheesy romance,
CHRISTMAS!

Friends and Lovers
************
 although, not technically a Christmas Movie,
its set during the Holidays.
Reminds Me of back in the day,
all The Singles gathering together,
Wynter Road Tripps.
Relationships..

Of course, the Classics:
*************

A Muppet's Christmas Carol

Scrooged

Elf

A Christmas Story

and what isn't there to LoVe about
It's a Wonderful Life

Damn, yes it is, yes it is!

dEPSPICABLE ME

oh.
my.
gawd.

Laugh Fest.

The 1/8 Scale Model Mini Human Bits,
or, aka: Our Kids!
have been bouncing off the walls since
they first saw the trailer for this.

The Man and I,
aka: The Parents....
wanted to go see it because Our Daughter
totally nailed the "its so fluffy".

if we didn't know better,
We'd swear She has a secret life as a Cartoon Voice.

hey, stranger things have happened...

Family Time was enjoyed by all.

AND!
the theater had SNOW CAPS!!
or should I say~
SNEAUX CAPS.

Our theaters here quit carrying them for some reason,
and I just can't quite find the right chocolate candy
to marry with my butter, butter, buttered PoPcorn.

That made it worth the trip just for that.

Fourth of July Fun~day

 Lazy Day.
The Man, Womb Fruits and I are heading en masse
to the theater for a little Air bender.
Afterwards, some CoFFee and Pastry at ze favorite Java Shop.
Back home to get comfortable as in, in our boxers before sundown.
A vintage Abbott and Costello The Time of Their Lives
{a Fourth of July tradition for The Man}
 Then to the backyard to watch fireworks.
We can see them from the mississippi river.
and don't have to fool with the crowd.
Crowd of Heat
Crowd of People
Crowd of Crowd...

all gone, with a wave of my GLiTTeR wAnd.

Have a Safe, Fun, Relaxing
Fourth of July, pEEps!!

Firefly and Serenity

Now that the Hottness is upon us,  its a perfect excuse to lounge
and check out some Hottness of another kind.

The theme is again Firefly,
here we are with another of my favorite Fireflies....
only one of THE BEST series to ever grace fox's channel,
{that they were so dumb to let go!}

A mini~ summer~ vegetable.on.the.couch.not.in.the.garden~ viewing marathon Holiday.
Since Fireflies come out at night lets make this a late afternOOn / Night time thingy.

Make some Melted Brie and Bread,
a pot of Earl Grey,
Turkish Sour CheRRies,
Candles,
Incense.....
Invite some Friends,
{bOOyaH!}
Righteous.

Firefly and Serenity are just enough sci~fi for me.
A buffed up kick arse version of Briscoe County Jr.
Sit back, press play, and Enjoy.

The Iron Giant

With Hurricane season upon us, here in the South,
We get a lot of hazy hot days
with bursts of {usually} late afternoon showers,
only for the sun to come out and
bake that rain into a labor~breathing humidity.
Like today!

Which means The Womb Fruits might be stuck inside....sigh.
No forcing them out until lunch;
No yelling at them that they better have an arm missing
to come back in the house
{but don't get blood on my newly mop & glowed kitchen floor!!}

Having one of those days?
I'm Lucky.
My Womb Fruits are fairly easy to please,
so on days when they have to sit inside
and wait it out,
here's a great! movie to pop in.

The Iron Giant
I LoVe this movie
The Chuck Man even LoVes this movie.
So do the Womb Fruits.

Its beginner Sci~F;
It has a RoBoT;
Its Cartoonimated;
Its Funny;
Its heartwarming;

ITS GOT VIN DIESEL AS THE GIANTS VOICE!!
{Rock ON! }

So don't sweat it.
Turn it into an AfternOOn~with.the.works~Family Movie Holiday.
Throw in some ChoCoLate milk,
air~popped PoPcorn,
a couple of Twinkies
and You have it made in the shade;
well, a/c anyway.

What do you have to lose ??

Afterall,
the Mop and Glo isn't dry yet!
