Meditation

 Life is stressful.
Holidays can be stressful.
What the hell?
How can I be a great Hostess with the Freshy Fresh Most~esst
if I'm StReSSed?!

Back in my late 20's, I grooved a magic carpet ride through the New Age movement.
It was what I had been looking for.
The best part was getting into Meditation.
For Someone who constantly was referred to as a vibrating ball of energy
{not always in a kind way either!}
it was Heavenly.
Dad always said if I didn't learn to relax,
I was gonna have a heart attack by 30.
THANKFULLY! that did not happen.

Cause I learned to relax.

I loved the Peace and Balance and Serenity,
the clearing of the Fog,
the healthy Health
It was Amazing.

We had a meditation group that met, I kid you not,
every Wednesday for about 3 years.
Unfortunately, but realistically, it came to an end.
People moved on, and the People who moved in,
were more for the want to say Oh Yeah, I meditate.
Their energy sucked!

Over the years I drifted away from it and now,
10 years later, find My Self yearning for it.
I have a couple of guided meditations, that are pretty decent.
I wish I still had my old one.
It was Fantastic.

For the new year, I want to get back into Meditation.
Its time.
Time to get focused and quit being a Sugar Cube melting in the Rain.

So I'm dusting off the cd,
Lighting Candles, Incense,
and  TriPPing the Rift...

Happy Birthday Maw Maw

She taught me how to make a house a home.
She taught me how to make her famous Chicken & Dumplings.
She taught me little work diddies to make the work faster.

She like Cherry vanilla ice cream.
She liked Church.
She liked Coke in a bottle, ice cold.

She let me make candles out of melted crayons.
She let me spend as many nights as I wanted with Her.
She let me cut up her quilting supplies.

She would order me special treats out of Harriet Carter.

She eloped with My Grandfather after falling in LoVe with Him, after He and His mother and sister came to board at My Grandmothers~ Mothers house. I still have the train case that He bought Her for their Honeymoon.

Most of all, She Loved Me Best!

She shOOts!! She Scores!!! My New Art Supplies

I totally scored a bounty of gOOdies!
Two Best Friends, gave Me a Loaded to the Hilt, gift card.
Loaded.
and did I use it!

Since I do so much with Resin,

I'm constantly looking for new things to embed in it.
Paper is so versatile and functional.
Alone or with added objects.
I get most of My Art Supplies from hoBBy loBBy.
They have a gazillion different papers.
and cheap!
So, I......
Loaded Up.

These Paper Punches inspired Me to try some new things with My Paper and Resin.

I've been salivating over this Martha Stewart GLiTTeR pack since October. Now, At first glance, the $30.00 price tag threw Me. But! If You break it down, it's only $1.67 a bottle . Pretty much the average for others. Its the color tones that make it. Really looking forward to working with these.

I reached a point in My resin art, a while back, where I needed to make My own molds.
I've been using a brush on mold maker, that works well, but I really liked the idea of making impressions and having them ready quite quickly. This is the mold making material that I've wanted to try; Splurged on that. The great thing about this is its multiple Crafty mold uses; food, soap, resin.

I restocked my Sewing Machine nEEdles, and bought this pretty copper colored thread.

But, the sweetest treat on this score,
were these Whimsical
{I've been dying to say that}
PaPers that I found.

ON Sale!

 Good Bounty All Around, Love.

calendars

I enjoy sitting down and  transferring my information from one calendar to another. I get to see how much I've accomplished, remember past parties and events, be proud of the bills I've conquered and how we've made it through another year.

This is the new calendar that was given to Me at Yulemas.

This is the old calendar that has some wicked CooL paintings by artist Daniel Merriam.

 Who wouldn't feel a bit more perky after reading these uplifting messages! {snort}

add some chipperly bright markers for all Your labeling needs and the whole year just look LoVeLy.

Hot CoCoa

Hot CoCoa

This is Your basic Hershey's Hot CoCoa.
Its special to Me, because of My Maw Maw.
When I was in Elementary School, She lived on the same street.
Every Morning, I would stop at Her house,
and She would make Me a cup of cocoa.
The afternOOns were just as delightful, but that's another post.
and We ALL know,
LoVe makes everything beTTer.

These cups were given to Me for Yulemas,
from My friend, Detlev.
They are Perfect for a cup of morning chocolate.

The Marshmallows, a little Lagniappe.

RECIPE:
Milk
1 spoonful {not heaping, cocoa is strong}
2 to 3 spoonfuls of sugar
1 spoonful of creamer
Toss of Marshmallows if wanted, needed, desired.

I just use whatever cup I'm drinking out of to measure My milk.
Pour in Your pan, add Your Cocoa, Sugar and Creamer.
I use My Whisk to stir it up.
Pour into cups when heated enough {not boiling}
and proceed to park Your bum on the nearest comfortable place
and Indulge.
